E' da molti anni che un certo modo di suonare Death Metal si
sta affermando nel panorama metal globale, si tratta dell'Apocalyptic DM, non è
un genere con delle coordinate ben definite ma è un'attitudine arcana, occulta
e nichilista a mettere d'accordo le band che lo suonano. Sembra che l'embrione
malsano concepito dai Beherit e Blasphemy (primi anni '90) sia rimasto
dormiente per risvegliarsi ed esplodere in questi anni. Alla violenza Black
Grind delle due band prima citate si fonde il chaos supremo di 'Realm of chaos'
dei Bolt Thrower, cui si aggiungono altre influenze come il Dm progressivo dei
Septic Flesh e di altre band greche, il Dm purulento degli Incantation, il Dm
oppressivo di 'Dmd' degli Ofactt e l'omonimo dei Gateway. Quella che segue è
