I Sepultura chiudono il periodo Death metal con questo monumentale 'Arise'. L'album è più cupo e meno thrasheggiante di 'Beneath the remains', solidissimo in tutti gli aspetti e consacra i brasiliani tra i migliori del genere. Il successivo 'Chaos AD' è l'inizio di un nuovo e decadente percorso musicale fatto di dischi inspiegabili che porterà i Sepultura ad un pseudo anonimato. Forse era meglio riciclarsi e campare di rendita.
