The Ruins of Beverast - Blood vaults (2013)

I The Ruins of Beverast non sono dei novelli, fin dal 2003, anno della loro formazione, hanno pubblicato quattro album, compreso questo 'Blood Vaults'. A gestire la band comunque è il solo musicista Alexander Von Meilenwald che abbraccia la causa dell' Apocalyptic Death Doom in questo album decisamente sinistro e meritevole.

Grave Miasma - Odori sepulcrorum (2013)

All'inflazionato ibrido Math-Deathcore (ostile alle mie orecchie) si oppone negli ultimi anni il meno popolare Apocalyptic Death Metal suonato da temibili formazioni underground. I Grave Miasma suonano quest'ultimo genere e sono tra i migliori esponenti. 'Odori sepulcrorum' è pregno di atmosfere arcane e rabbia controllata, le idee non sono numerose ma essenziali per creare un album dannatamente pesante.

Hail Of Bullets - III-The Rommel chronicles (2013)

Ascoltando il terzo lavoro degli olandesi Hail Of Bullets mi accodo alle tante positive recensioni di web, zine e blog, aggiungendo solo che sono dei maestri nel suonare dannatamente heavy! La capacità di comporre bei pezzi Death metal vecchia maniera dai suoni moderni è l'effetto di anni di esperienza dei musicisti in altre temibili formazioni (Asphyx, Cremation, Grand Supreme Blood Court, Pestilence, Gorefest, Houwitser ecc.). Per chi si è accorto di loro solo ora è obbligatorio procurarsi i precedenti lavori della band.

Ulcer - Grant us death (2013)

I polacchi Ulcer omaggiano la Svezia e pubblicano un buon album di sano ed intenso Death metal vecchia scuola. Le influenze di 'Grant us death' scomodano lo stile dei primi Entombed per via di quel sound nostalgico chiamato crushing svedese. Tra i più interessanti album dell'anno.

Demonical - Darkness unbound (2013)

I Demonical pubblicano il loro quarto album in otto anni di onesta carriera all'insegna di un Death Metal scontato ma diretto. Questo 'Darkness unbound' conferma la disinvoltura della band nel comporre buoni ed orecchiabili brani, migliorati dalla stagionata preparazione dei musicisti veterani della scena. Produzione corposa per un album che non deluderà affatto.

Melodic Death Metal - Scheda

Melodic Death.

Le aperture musicali di Ceremonial Oath, Sentenced e Carcass (solo ‘Heartwork’ 93) vengono accolte con propositivi consensi da molte bands ed in poco tempo il Melodic Death diventa un genere trainante del metal estremo (iniezione di riffs Maideniani nel Death Metal di matrice svedese più fluido e meno gutturale, spesso assai distante dalla matrice Death).

Questa è la mia personale lista di album apprezzabili, mancano famose bands come At The Gates, Soilwork ecc. che considero ascrivibili all’area Speed-Thrash Metal. La lista è molto lunga in quanto conseguenza di 20 anni di ascolto ed include anche album di derivazione Folk o Black melodico.
